Volcanic eruptions; ‘A’ level volcanic activity rim walk and still alive!

In 2000 a volcanic eruption pushed this road up in steps as the ground rose.

The volcanic Techicnal word is a Graben.

This was the main road and the remains of a biscuit factory on the left.

331 craters formed in this area.

Mt Showa Shinzan is a lava dome that grew from nothing out of a corn field in 1944/45.

It’s still smoking.

Hells Valley Geothermal field.

Still  alive and smiling

Sea food lunch.

Our next volcano walk - the last black bear was seen 4 days ago.

Hope he is not hungry!

If is not death by bear

it could be by poisonous volcanic gas or high  temperatures

Mt Tarumae.

Up

And UP

And UP

Still alive !

Impressive walk

Actually a tough 7.2 Km walk

Mt Tarumae circuit walk, close to the action
