Honshu - Mt Fuji
Tuesday, 6 June 2023 2:55 am
Japan Mt Fuji. It’s one impressive mountain.
Even better to drive up.

We are 150kms away and awoke at 5am to clear sky- let’s go
Our plan was not to do all 3 roads but each is different.
The last (on the left) where we camped extremely steep-over a straight line distance of 4kms we climbed 2000m.
2nd & 3rd high, lock to lock.
GREAT +

The 1000Y bank note- with a view of Fuji emulated below

Just no reflection today

Same place- there were about 20+ motorbike riders there for the same pictures.
Was a challenge to get a ‘just us’ pic, with help from those riders

Another view point

Churei-to Pagoda - one of the 5 classical Fuji pics

After 400 steps still smiling

Lave tubes- what you find down small tracks
Shiraito Falls- one of the top waterfalls in Japan

Scree slopes on the Fuji- Subaru drive ( right side )

We had planned to camp on the above drive but found you have to exit the area before 9pm, hence drive No3.
So please we did this one.

Our camp at 2500m

Sunrise at 4.30am.
At 2*C too cold to get out, hence the quick front window shot then back under the warm duck down quilt.

Before we visited the Matsumoto Castle, just had to fight our way past the samurai

There has been some big rains and waterfalls everywhere- a walk to Hiroyuki Falls

Then we see this sign!
