EU Part 1 UK, Netherlands,Germany, Denmark
Wednesday, 20 March 2019 11:34 am
As the UK comes out of its Winter, we arrive to an overcast and a cool 9*C climate.
The old oak tree is yet to show new season buds.
The vehicle has been with Fuso at Stansted ( South of Cambridge) where they replaced both the Alternator and the Turbo unit. Both had been playing up during the last trip so I elected to send new replacements across for them to fit. This is the first real replacements I have done with any OEM equipment. With now 212,194Kms on the clock and some serious hard driving - I am still very impressed with the Canter.
We arrive back at our mates place, Bryan & Leigh, to a great welcome and a few glasses of red wine.
We are fighting sleep and crash in the truck bed at around 8pm.
Wednesday 20th March 2019:
Simple tasks : Clean vehicle, pack and organise stuff, grease, stock with food, fill water tanks and chemicals in the loo. Kick the Blog off, after learning again how it is all done !
AND one more thing... the house batteries are completely flat. Ordered 3 new ones, they will arrive tomorrow.
Lyn’s sister is also coming for a visit today. She is currently in Manchester visiting her daughter so has taken the train across the Uk to see us.

Thursday 21st March 2019:

Judy, Lyn’s sister arrived yesterday, and Leigh cooked up a huge lamb roast including Yorkshire pudding - what a feast.
Whilst the girls drank red wine, Bryan and I managed to polish off 1/2 a bottle of the finest of the Bundaberg Rums = a good evening.
Batteries arrived, fitted. Then still there is no power. Rechecked the old batteries and yes they are actually OK at 12.8 V ! Join the start and house batteries and everything works. Isolate the house battery from the start battery and the gauge in the camper reads 12.8 volts. Turn on any led light and the charge drops from 12.8 quickly down to ZERO. ??
Buggered if I know why - maybe the VSR is stuffed. We will go and operate with the batteries in parallel.
Fixed the water pump that did not work ,now good to go.
At the end of the day we are at the Harwich International Sea Port.
